Hope For The Less Endowed
(With Brain-Power that is - Beachbum read on..)
But first, I strongly suggest readers vector to the comment Beachbum made on this past Wednesday’s post - the YouTube video has lessons for many disciplines, including those interested in entrepreneurship -> look @ it. And now, the rest of the story for today:
You don’t have to be smart to be rich, study finds from PhysOrg.com
Conclusion with impact for entrepreneurs: “Intelligence is not a factor for explaining wealth. Those with low intelligence should not believe they are handicapped, and those with high intelligence should not believe they have an advantage.”
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to make a lot of money, according to new research. A nationwide study found that people of below average intelligence were, overall, just about as wealthy as those in similar circumstances but with higher scores on an IQ test.

Reading this makes me wonder more about entreprenuerial classes. Has there been a study in which greater IQ scores or greater intelligence correlates to whether or not a student enters the program?
Hank says: To be best of my knowledge, there haven’t been any studies using the variable of “intelligence/IQ” to measure success, or propensity towards entrepreneurship. Researchers have looked at family background including where in the sibling chain they are, social, economic, cultural, gender bias, education level, etc., but not IQ per se. I suspect a common, perhaps misconception, is that entrepreneurs are “intelligent.” This concept may be mediated by concepts such as “sharp, bright, etc.” but not based on actual measurements. Be a very interesting area for researchers to pursue! Good observation!
Having intelligence doesn’t matter all that much to gain wealth. Using what resources you have, does. One needs to recognize the opportunities and act on them. Entrepreneurship requires action by somebody. But, the entrepreneur does have to be smart enough to reap the rewards.
“Having intelligence doesn’t matter all that much to gain wealth. Using what resources you have, does.”
Usually, It takes an intelligent person to wisely use what resources they have.
