"Having intelligence doesn’t matter all that much to gain wealth. Using what resources you have, does."

Usually, It takes an intelligent person to wisely use what resources they have.

Having intelligence doesn't matter all that much to gain wealth. Using what resources you have, does. One needs to recognize the opportunities and act on them. Entrepreneurship requires action by somebody. But, the entrepreneur does have to be smart enough to reap the rewards.

Hank says: To be best of my knowledge, there haven't been any studies using the variable of "intelligence/IQ" to measure success, or propensity towards entrepreneurship. Researchers have looked at family background including where in the sibling chain they are, social, economic, cultural, gender bias, education level, etc., but not IQ per se. I suspect a common, perhaps misconception, is that entrepreneurs are "intelligent." This concept may be mediated by concepts such as "sharp, bright, etc." but not based on actual measurements. Be a very interesting area for researchers to pursue! Good observation!

Reading this makes me wonder more about entreprenuerial classes. Has there been a study in which greater IQ scores or greater intelligence correlates to whether or not a student enters the program?
