I can’t wait to see this in People magazine: Katie pushes Suri in pimped Roddler. If these do turn out to be a hit after release, I must admit I’ll be a little surprised, but then again, I’m not in the target market. Although if it does take off, I’m sure there’s an opportunity for entrepreneurs right behind that door, but I can’t put my finger on what it would be.

The Roddler is an interesting idea. But I think it should be left as an idea. Yeah it probably will make money with extremly wealthy people. But to me the idea is incredibly vain. Now not only can filthy rich people flaunt their money with cars, boats, and plains, they are now so rich they have to specialize strollers. It seams like they are already starting to instill an attitude into their children ” Look at me and my stroller, I`m so much better than you” I know children don’t think that way while riding in a stroller, infact they don’t do a whole lot of thinking until they get older, but I do know that parents influence their children from the start. If they begin by spoiling their child even before the child develops, he will have a terrible attitude.

The entrepeneurial idea is good for making money, but for the child, family, and others. I think it could potentially have drawbacks. Not to mention if they stroller has so many gazmos and gidgets, how are the parents going to pay attention to the child in the stroller.

The idea of making customizable strollers is a solid one, but methinks the target market is too small. If the company decided to branch out to suburban moms with smaller wallets, they could probably still make a killing.

I see exactly where these inventors had their minds set, wealthy middle to upper class women. My friend has a pretty high tech stroller which of course didnt cost as much as the Roddler, but it was very close to a thousand dollars. Her stroller was not customizable, it came with a temperature gage, pedometer, radio/ipod hookup, “pimped out” wheels, and special fabrics to choose from for the chair. Her stroller also had a removable car seat. Either way it was a high class stroller much like the Roddler. I believe these will take off especially with celebs as katie mentioned. People do not use the dinky strollers that weigh 2 lbs. and are simple cloth anymore. I for one would not purchase this stroller because when walking with my child in the park I wouldnt be able to focus on the road while watching tv or a dvd. It’s a good idea, but not conventional for everyone.

From what I’ve seen, the baby accessory market is huge and quite lucrative. If this doesn’t hit it off at $2500, I’m sure someone would be willing to make a more cost effective model, that would jump off of the shelves at eager new parents. It’s definitely a stylish way to tote your toddler around the block and the idea of customization is really alluring to people. If they started with a stripped down model at a few hundred and had all of the add-ons at additional prices where you could even add things after you bought it, I believe it would have infinite potential and your stroller wouldn’t become obsolete since you could add the latest and greatest techs to it.

Even though this seems over the top and even ridiculous, I can see rich flashy parents buying something like this for their kids. The stroller has more features and accessory options than my car did at the dealership.

Someone should combine this idea with a segway. Now thats a cool stroller.

You know, why the hell not. The owner of KidsKustoms obviously found a niche where some ‘wealthy-people’ like to flaunt what they have. Obviously you can’t buy your toddler a porsche, so why not pimp their stroller? I actually wonder who the first celebrity on vh1 will be to flaunt their new Roddler.

Don’t moms, rich or not, want stuff thats practical? I mean so what if it has caller ID and an iPod docking station…is it collapsable? looks like everything is hard-shell. Can it fit through a grocery store isle or the trunk of a car? Oh wait, if it’s for rich people they probably have hired help to do that shopping and packing for them… Yeah, I’m definitely not seeing this lasting on the market but it was a creative way to target a niche market of elite momma’s. If indeed this does take off I bet lots of other entrepreneurs will come up with ways to target rich caregivers….iPod Baby…built in snack dispensers?

ok this is a sick stroller and a great idea, but the only this a stroller really
need is wheels and a seat. Why would someone spend $2500 and more on a stroller?
    …because they can!

  11. 11 Christina Caputo

If a person has a lot of money to spend, I’m sure that they would spend their money on something like this stroller. People like to flaunt how much money they have and this product would just be another way that they would be able to do that. We’ve already seen celebrities and other wealthy people spending a great deal of money on other things for their baby, so this would just be one more item on their list!

  12. 12 bhand

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time until we see Britney or Angelina strolling around Beverly Hills with one of these. In my opinion, it’s not a real stroller until it has a GPS navigation system. Is there a holder for Britney’s beer?

  13. 13 ThaG1ft3d0ne

Well the concept is cool, its like the scion of strollers. Although its not very appealing to me there are ppl who will buy nething especially since it comes w/ a custom pearl paint job… its hard to get that for a car!

  14. 14 Griffin

This is just another way for those people who have ridiculously too much money to flaunt it. I thought strollers were designed with portability, comfortability, and durability in mind, not style. I think some of the previous responders were right earlier when they commented on the entrepreneur possibly overshooting his target market. Sure, the celebrities might all start buying these but once they all have one who is going to be left to buy them then? Pimped out strollers just don’t seem to have any real purpose, at least the way they are designed now. However, if they were pimped out to, let’s say make the ride more comfortable for the child so they aren’t screaming the entire time the mother is shopping in the store, then maybe thats an idea that would garner some more attention from a bigger audience. But, a stroller that is decked out seemingly to just to show off your wealth and provide entertainment for the pusher, is an unsound business idea.

  15. 15 Kyle Brown

I kinda think this is just another sad example of the upper class flaunting their wealth. From the business point of view this a good market to tap. I give credit to the people who envisioned this, but as an everyday viewer I can’t believe anyone would buy this other than as a status symbol.

  16. 16 Trice "The Beast"

Boy o Boy do I love products like these…that can be marketed to the celebrities…..I belive that if this is marketed correctly it would make alot of money. Since you can custoize it, you can make it suit boys and girls. All you need to do is let one celebrity be seen pushing it and say it is the top of the line newest thing in infant science and the business will take off. The price can be inflated to what suits your prefence…This is a great new product to serve the silver spoon born of the next generation.

  17. 17 Kyle S

Babies are babies and I vision them throwing up on the nice cow hide or alligator skins, banging the nice paint job with their little toys, and parents being a little too concerned about the Roddler. I don’t really like this idea, however if the companay did a feasability analysis then they would know if these things would be a major concern or not.

  18. 18 Seth Houin

This is a creative idea that has a quite large, but defined target market. I can only imagine the topics on ET television involving ‘pimped out strollers’. Personally, I don’t concern myself with unmotorized forms of transportation that cost more than my car.

  19. 19 Jacque Chaney

I find it pathetic that this product may actually sell. Rich people are always trying to flaunt their money and the extremely egotistical ones would actually buy this stroller. It is just something for them to use to make them seem that much better. I personally think that a nice walmart stroller would do just as nicely and it would probably be much more portable as well. This is a good idea but I would try to focus more on a middle class market instead of the upper class. You would get much more business because not everyone wants to spend 2,500 on a stroller that their kid would outgrow in a couple years anyways. Maybe try putting a dvd player or a bluetooth in a regular stroller, its still overdoing it but it be much more marketable. Actually, I think id be pretty satisfied with a radio or an ipod in a stroller.

  20. 20 Alex Morgan

This stroller seems very excessive to me. Not only that, but I think it looks kind of ridiculous. Also, your kid who rides in a stroller is not old enough to appreciate that stuff. I really doubt that they get all excited when they are in it because it was based off of the designs for an airplane. I also think it’s a little crazy how expensive they are. I would not pay that much for a stroller even if I was really rich.

  21. 21 Lauren F

I think it would be much more practical to make cheaper strollers, with less accessories, that more people could buy. I can see brightly colored strollers or ones with neat designs selling really well to the common person. $2500 on a stroller is really excessive, though. A parent should not need all the extra stuff on the stroller when they are carting around an infant, they should be paying attention to their child.

  22. 22 Trevor Opris

This may not be just about flaunting money, it could just be about the best. Look through rich people’s views. They make millions a year. Drive a Lexus to work every day and 300,000 dollar sports cars on the weekends (Hank if your part of the Porsche club, you know those people). When it comes to their children, they only have one or two. So when they are shopping for strollers, won’t it just be easier to spend a few thousand dollars on quality, just for piece of mind. 2500, is what nothing to these people.

However, I do have on question for the manufacturers. How easy is it to clean up baby puke from a leather interior?

  23. 23 Victoria Noyes

I think that this sounds cool but I think its a bit of a hazard… I think that children especially enfants should
have their parents of caretakers attention at all times not have them watching dvds or listing to their ipod while
their child is choking on something because they are distracted by all of the additional features Also I just think
    that it looks wierd.

One thing that I have really learned over the past few weeks is that customization is a really, really big industry no matter where you are and what you do. People like to be able to say that they have something that is original, like nothing else and is better than what other people have. I think that it is a great idea to pimp strollers for the well off class of buyers. I’m just wondering if it be able to thrive because of the price of it and the fact that not alot of people have that much to invest on just a stroller that will only be used a few times, unlike a car that can last for decades. People pay for customization, I just hope that the business model for this company is developed enough to the point where they don’t lose money. Something like could be just a fad amoung the rich until something better comes along.
