The current IPTV box I’m using (ADB) does’t support hooking up SlingMedia’s Slingbox, but the older Amino boxes do. Courtesy of the friendly local support guys at Mintel, our ISP/Phone/IPTV provider, I was able to hook into a Slingbox they have installed in their Central Office on an Amino. I chose to install the Slingbox player on our eeePC, even though its CPU spec (800 MHz), doesn’t meet the 1.3GHz requirement stated by SlingMedia. It works great! So now, on our eeePC, I have all the wonders of Microsoft Office 2007, Skype 4.0 beta, and now Slingbox running seamlessly, all on a 2 pound micro portable. Sweet!
