Interesting story here: about how a former Google employee, Anna Patterson, has rolled out a challenge to Google’s crushing hold on Internet search. Get this: she is the mother of four, and has a Ph.D. in computer science from the mother of the modern Internet, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. You’ve got to dig Cuil! @ www.cuil.com. I just going to send you a link to a story about this today… but it look like you beat me to it!
I think the amazing thing about cuil is that they say they are not going to track everything you search. Privacy is huge if you ask me. I wasn’t impressed with the searches that I made on it, however I think given time it will get better, once it can index more pages.
I did a search on cuil.com and it took me to a page with malware on it. That kind of sucked, but not as bad as cuil’s search results.
My searches resulted in a try again later error…
