Here’s a twist is advertising: Levi is actually acknowledging the fact it’s just a simple jeans brand. The fancy things in life aren’t as important as your favorite pair of jeans and all that comes with them. This commercial, shot backwards, follows a model as she leaves a photoshoot and returns to her normal life, complete with her perfect, properly facial-haired, exotic-ish-looking boyfriend. It will debut during the season premiers of Gossip Girl September 1. From here: Aside from wearing Levis, I dig the ad. Hank

What a very interesting ad. The camera work is neat and the overall commercial catches your attention. Levi’s made a great advertisement that shows even socially higher classed people with a fancy life can put on a pair of blue jeans.
This is a very appealing commercial. I like how it is all shot in black and white and how the music changes once she goes back to her everyday lifestyle. Also the fact that she is walking backwards catches your eye and keeps you wanting more. Even the rich and the famous love a good old pair of jeans.
Wow….that’s all I really have to say. I thought it was interesting that the commercial was playing the girl’s life backwards instead of instead of regular time. The different effects they had in there were nice as well. While I usually prefer Old Navy jeans, I’d say this commercial did a nice job.
Well, after reading everyone’s comments, prior to watching the video, I was pretty excited about it. I was really anticipating something good! However, I feel let down. Yes, the commercial was intriguing, but only for the first few seconds for me. Then, I got bored and confused. I feel like I would’ve liked it much better had it not been backwards. I LOVED the black and what affect tho and the kiss. Those were the good things.
I as well felt very confused after watching it the first time. After watching it a few times I really caught on to it and found it very interesting. I like how it was was her life in reverse and how it went from her modeling life then too her back to reality.
I found the concept of the commercial original and refreshing. Sure it had the usual “sex sells” aspect, but it seemed to be done in a fashion not consistent with how many of Levi’s competitors are advertising ie. flashy colors and girls scantily clad in bikinis. Rather the commercial portrayed a life story in 1 minute and 21 seconds, and it left me wanting more.
Wait, did you guys notice that she (and her boyfriend) are going backwards, but everything else is going forwards? like the bus and the people in the last scene?
Anyways, It’s a good ad.
I just got back from a trip to Istanbul, where I normal pair of Levi jeans sells for over $130 dollars. They are the top brand in many Eastern European countries. and we can get them here for 20 bucks… Isn’t it interesting how one company with one product can market it completely different ways in different areas?
I’m actually not so sure that this ad is actually saying that these jeans are simple. This advertisement seems to be targeting a middle class consumer, who may not pay over a hundred dollars per pair of jeans. But yet, they display the pants on a high class, probably multimillionaire, super model. She’s got the perfect guy, people waiting on her every need, and is adored by everybody. I think this is Levi’s telling us middle class people that we can be like today’s rock stars by wearing their forty dollar jeans.
very creative it got me to watch it twice.
Looks like Levi did a little copying of Dove’s “Campaign For Real Beauty”

I thought this was a really well crafted commercial. You see the hectic life of a model, but it all comes back to putting on a good pair of jeans and being comfortable. I also like how they use an urban backdrop as her sanctuary with her boyfriend. Keeping true to the Levi’s way of being young and modern. Levi’s has always had great ads, so I”m not surprised to see another one.
This is truly a nicely crafted ad. It shows that every man, whoever he might be would want to get back home in a comfortable nice pair of jeans…The way the life of a model while at work n her personal life is combined is great…! The theme (going backwards n the black n white) is really complimenting the ad!
this ad is very attractive and titillating. The director’s idea of shooting it black and white, portraying the normal model life, and the effects (musics) in the ad promoted the commercial even more to another level. It’s hard to estimate what will happen next in the ad as well. Nicely done!!!
I liked it, a lot actually. Sometimes people forget what life is all about - they get caught up in the luxury items they’ve always wanted. Jeans, bring simplicity back to life; at least mine!
I like this! It started to give me a headache towards the end though!
This is really awesome!!!
