PP Thanks to my nephew, a Purdue ME grad, via his mother for pointing this out. Isn’t the Digital World fun? Hank

It’s amazing what you can do on the internet. I guess this goes to show that people will use any medium they have at their disposal to crack jokes. Anyway, the internet is an easy to use and wide reaching medium so it is ideal for youngsters and college students like me. I can’t imagine a world without it. I guess that’s the kind of product that I want to create. I just don’t know what it is yet.

I think it is very interesting how the internet has suddenly provided all the answers to everyones’ questions. My boyfriend has said, several of times, that if he didn’t know the answer he would just go to the ‘key to the world, the computer’. People don’t think sometimes though that some sites (a lot) aren’t creditable. The internet is great but sometimes not fully understood.

wait, I’m a little confused. So this video is not true right? It was created via the website? If I just saw this on youtube and if the name of the candidate wasn’t Purdue Pete, I would definately believe it. Like Mallory said, we need to know which sites are credible, especially when we do research for classes.

assuming this is real, i find it sad how little information politicians need to gain a vote from the public. If people are willing to vote for this guy just off of a whim, then people will do the same when voting for actual politicians. I don’t know about you but that makes me think who’s really to blame for all these lame politicians in office. so the next time you complain about a lousy president, governor, or congressman make sure you realize who’s really to blame.

If this video is real or not, I think people should know a little bit more about their candidates before they vote. You shouldn’t just vote for someone based on what their campaign is like or what kinds of advertisements they have. You should vote for what they are trying to say through their ads and campaigns. I’m pretty sure this video was made up. It’s a cool video though. Purdue Pete is pretty awesome!!

I also couldn’t load the video when I opened up THIS blog post. But when I stayed on the general blog page, http://thinkbeta.com/blog and click on the “play” button it allowed me to play. You can give it a try.

For those of you having trouble with the video: First you need to have Adobe Flash installed, and Second, it takes a little time for the video to load. If you are on a relatively slow internet connection, and jump on starting the video right away, it won’t play. Try bringing up the blog page, and waiting several seconds. You should see the right caret bottom left go dark black and be OK. Obviously it worked for those ahead of you, and every time for me, but I have a 5 MB connection. Having said all of that, IF you recently updated your browser to Internet Explorer 8, and EVEN if you installed the Flash plugin, for reasons beyond me, it doesn’t play. All the more reason to stick with FireFox 3. I also tried it out on our Mac running Safari and it worked as advertised. Sorry for your problem; it is an interesting video employing pretty cool technology to spoof viewers.

I couldn’t get the video to work in my room nor the computer lab. I’ll keep trying and post a comment when I see it.

This reminds me a lot of theonion.com which is a spoof web-news source. They have videos, and all of them are on youtube.com there is some pretty funny stuff on there.

This video is interesting but i do not think it is as useful as any other web related sites
