Nwokedi yesterday pointed out an online “Game” which, according to the link, is “a FREE Internet-based small business simulation game that engages students as they explore the risks and rewards of business ownership.” If you’ve got a couple of free minutes, give it a whirl. The link is here: Hank -> And thanks Nwokedi!

The concept reminds me of smart money which is a online stock tradeing simulation.
I also know another simulation game.
The link is http://www.perfectcompetition.net/
I used to play this and I enjoyed it, but I found it difficult to learn the game at first.
Seems like an interesting game but there are a few parts that I could not figure out. My only problem is that since it’s a computer game people are more likely to take stupid risks that they would never take in real life.
It is quite difficult to understand the game first. The game doesn’t allow us to do anything in the middle of the game. However, it introduces new methods of dealing business.
I’ll admit I actually lost track of time playing this game. It was really fun and it gave me quite some insight on how some things in business work. I have to agree with John though on the fact that you are more likely to take risks on the simulation rather than in real life though.
This game was definitely addicting. I liked how the monthly reports were detailed and actually showed where the profit was coming from and where the funds was going.
Awesome game. It offers a brief view into the business world without having to worry about the true financial backing. In the end, it gives you access to a business in a matter of minutes rather than years. What a great way to learn the ropes!
What a cool idea! I think it would help people, like myself, who are CLUELESS about such things as owning a business!
This is a pretty cool game! I just had a quick glance at it…Seems to be very interesting. I will definitely get back and play the game. I liked the way the reports and things were made which actually showed the figures. I agree with John and Rick. I feel this game would be great for people to start new businesses and ways to handle them. But since its a computer game, casual mistakes cant be avoided. All in all, this seems to be a great tool
Wow pretty fun game….I played through the full 24 months and enjoyed every bit of it. I loved how it broke everything down into graphs and showed the actual data. It gives a good general idea of what owning a business is like. I wish it was more in depth though.
I think that knowing this is a game I took some risks that I wouldn’t normally take, but overall I liked the game. I liked the graphs.
It’s a pretty cool game, even though I had no idea what to do.
No idea how to play, just checked it out for a little bit.
Sounds like you can build experience and get a basic idea. I think it is also good because
it makes you experience what entrepreneur thinks.
I couldn’t install the plugins correctly for some reason
if it’s anything like the game of Life- I’m in
The game was pretty cool in a business aspect. I agree with someone above, I took a couple risks I probably would’ve never taken in real life but I guess sometimes that’s the point of a game, it’s not real. But interesting game at that!
hey!
