I think the lacey looks this fall look feminine and chic. Prada especially, has incorporated a lot of lace into her fall line. Side note—it’s scary how much Nina Fey looks like Sarah Palin.
I’m not quite sure how appealing the lace look is as compared to other stylish trends, however, it is these trends that capture noticeability amongst the masses. It’s little niche ideas like the lace look that entice people because it’s a trend-a way to be different from the average person. In the end, more people will want to partake in the fad causing the lace marketplace to increase its revenue; but only for awhile since this is only a trend or fad that will most likely wear out causing an unsteady platform for perpetual business growth.
It doesn’t matter if the lace looks good or doesn’t look good. If it is the new trend it will sell.
The fashion industry is always changing, and people are always buying new clothes. It seems that the fashion industry would be a good market to tap into. However, I believe it’s hard to penetrate the market because there are so many clothing companies out there. I know a guy that owns a clothing line, and he’s barely making money. But he loves it.
Yeah I don’t see the fashion industry as being something that would be remotely easy for the ‘little guy’ to tap in to. If you actually do come out with something new/inventive as a smaller company, people will likely dismiss it until the big dogs start coming out with something similar. On the other hand, if you come out with something that has already caught on, you’re just copying big designers and are a wannabe!
I have to agree with Chase. The fashion industry is constantly changing, requiring updates, and anyone can really start a new fashion so long as the public buys into it. If lace is the new thing, then I’ll give it a couple more years and then it’ll be something else. So does this new fashion open up a whole new world for entrepreneurs? Maybe a few, and even then, its really limited.
Fashion is always a great choice for entrepreneurs and businesses because it is always changing. However, because it is always changing it is not very reliable. you can have a great idea for a clothing line or whatever and sell a lot, then in a few years see absolutely no one buy your product because it is out of style.
I agree with Kevin. The fashion industry is growing by the day. New fashion start-ups keep coming. But the fashion industry in most parts of the world works through a network. U gotta know somebody to get big in the industry.
Coming to fashions…the only thing constant about it is that it keeps changing! Something thats ‘in’ today might be completely out of fashion tomorrow…Many a times fashions are revived.
The entrepreneur needs to keeps up with the fashion of the time and keep amending his line.
Fashion is a great industry to get into if you can do just that but the fact that its so everchanging and dificult to keep up with makes it hard to really penetrate the market.
Fashion is as volatile as the stock market. If only we could design a program that predicts fashion.
Maybe if fashion is your thing then this could be an opertunity to expand on. Otherwise, not much interest. SNL rocks though!
Lace is really starting to be in style, but sometimes it is too much. I think a little bit of lace is a nice touch, but in some cases it can ruin an outfit. It is crazy to think of what will be in style next!
I love the lace fashion. Lace dresses, tops, coats, etc. are all extremely stylish and functional. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is the added lace hemline. I do not think that’s a style I will sport anytime soon!
Lace looks good and all ,but who knows how long it will be “in”. If fashion is not your thing it’s probably not the best market for you to go in to.
Lace never really went that far out of style, did it?
all i know is that i will never be in the fashion industry, I dont know much about fashion. I guess lace is good because i mean girls are always wanting to flaunt themselves. And by wearing laced clothes does just that.
I’ve got to agree with Brian. Fashion isn’t for the weak of heart, and is very difficult to become successful in.

i just always thought it was targeted at a select few and thats what it always was and maybe now if more people are wearing it it’s growing.
i guess thats how out of the loop i am

seems like i have seen jackets like this in style for a while, just don’t really see many people wearing them. They look like there more expensive than there worth.
I am glad to hear that lace is in tyle this fall… I just bought a new lace sweater:) I do think howeve, that some of the pictures look like the ace theme is going a little too far.. I think that the lace suit was little too much!!

i’m not too into lace. sometimes it is ok but in a couple of these pictures it was too much - more gaudy than attractive.
the fashion line is not a good choice for entrepreneurs unless they have something completely ingenious, aka the push-up bra.
I’m not a big fan of lace but i guess lots people will start wearing that soon =)

PS- Tina Fey was hilarious on her playing of Sarah Palin, good laughs for us while maybe tarnishing of her reputation..but, I guess not bad for the Obama fans out there.
Why are most of the women wearing lace in the video old?
I don’t personally like lace, but if I thought it was going to sell I would get into that kind of business
