I think it is good for people to find innovative ideas from their daily mistakes. Most of the time, the ideas that people find from their daily mistakes work well. If those innovative ideas combine with entrepreneur’s effort and passion, then it becomes a huge success.

If only everyone knew exactly how much energy they use. I personally don’t like leaving the light on, but I know my room mate always leaves it on. The thing is we don’t get charged separately for utilities so we have no incentive to turn off the light.

You have to admire when somebody has that kind of persistence to make a dream, even something this simple, yet brilliant, work for them against all odds. Props to Dolph! All those pics are making me want to get one of these gizmos even more than I indicated in my post on Saturday. Seems like a sophisticated system!

I think this product is great. I live in an apt with 3 other roomates and we always wonder why the bill is so much higher some months than others or how much leaving lights on costs or what things use more electricity than others. I think this would answer alot of our questions and settle alot of debates and arguements. Plus I’d find it interesting just to see what things consume more energy and how to be more useful.

This is the perfect entrepreneurial scenario, fixing one of his own problems. I know my family has this problem, often triple checking and maybe turning around before vacations to see if everything is off. This would be a very helpful product.

I like the fact that he was persistent and eventually found somebody who said that it could be done. I am not technologically savvy either. It is great that he knew his weakness and got somebody else involved who was strong in that area.

Dolph Rodenberg’s story perfectly illustrates the journey of many entrepreneurs. He developed a product that he himself would use and did not have. I think that’s important to remember when developing a prodcut.

I like to be shown why I should change what I am doing to something different. I don’t like being told just to do something, I need proof on why the other way is better and this shows you. Like Casey said, we are all using more energy than we really need to and our device will actually show you where the most energy is being consumed.
