Wow, he understands the future of technology and Google’s place remarkably well. Granted he is the CEO, he really understands that Google doesn’t need to create all the innovations in the industry, just that Google will be the platform for all the innovations. Interesting how he “knows how to turn off” himself from the media, I wish everyone had this ability (including myself). No wonder he is a billionaire.

I agree with Charlie’s comment, it’s great he is wise enough to realize that Google doesn’t need to come up with every innovation as long as Google stays involved with them, just as they did with You Tube. That’s a major investment that will pay off for them one day.

I agree with Breanna and Charlie about how google does not have to come up with every innovation. Google is going to be successful no matter what. They are still coming up with new ideas all of the time. Eric Schmidt really knows what he is doing when it comes to making Google one of the most successful companies in the world.

I have to agree with everyone that it’s really not about inventing everything. People forget that they don’t have to be the one to come up with something but rather can license technology to apply it in their own way. This is innovation as well, don’t always think that you have to design the next best thing as long as you can market it!

One thing that big companies like Google have an advantage at is the ability to acquire the companies that have these great inventions, just like they did with YouTube. It’s the small start-ups that Google will be acquiring that you need to start if you want to make the next generation of inventions.

It would be awesome to get picked up by google. I wish I had a website and google caught an interest in it and I could sell it to them.

I would have to agree with the others. This guy says a lot of things that make a lot of since. He has a good sense of where his company is going as far as the future and how they are dealing with change. Its these types of people that really have to connect with the public because it’s people like him that wil catch peoples attention because of his company and its success.
