Let the Good Times Roll
Posted on April 8th, 2009 22 commentsAbout this time in a semester, students need a cheering section to push them through to a successful end. So instead of my usual thought-provoking blog
, today we’re featuring the Kings Firecrackers at a US Naval Academy performance. Enjoy-relax-get loose! Hank

Wow! To have such synchrony within such a large group is very impressive, must have taken endless hours of practice, especially for such young people. No wonder they’re all so skinny, I’d lose quick weight doing this routine!

Wow. That was so awesome. I don’t think I ever would be ever to do something like that. I would hit the rope so many times that it would not be good. Thanks for the morning pick me up Hank.

WOW…that was fun to watch. I love to watch things like this when everyone is on beat and on que. I’m like Casey, I would probably hang myself in one of the ropes.lol

At my elementary school they had something very similiar to this, it was called “Rockin Ropesters.” They did tricks like the ones in the video. It was really fun to watch!

That’s really awesome. I wanted to see an overhead view so you could see the shapes of their formations, but it was still neat.
Here is another video of a guy jump roping on cornstarch water from Time Warp. The jump roping part is at 6:22.

Thats awesome! I kind of wish I had that much skill jump roping. The video did help me relax a bit.

That was the most intense jump roping I’ve ever seen. Wonder how much they practice? Also, how the hell do they remember a routine that is that long? I would for sure mess up some where in there. I’m still stressed with this success case presentation tomorrow though haha.

Wow I know that must of taken alot of time and practice. Good thing they are young and have tons of energy!

Wow, that’s pretty astounding! They had a great performance. I’m actually kind of surprised that an old friend was captured in the video. He’s in the Naval Academy (1:21, he was bopping up and down). He’s a character. Thank you for the relaxed blog entry, Hank!

Impressive…I bet many of the young girls end up becoming politicians, astronauts, or Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders because of this video. They should be thanking you Hank for giving them their first big break!

So yeah being a person that can hardly jump rope this is amazing to me. But honestly I think my favorite part was when they scanned the crowd and seeing their reactions. There were a few who were really getting into it but there were also a bunch of guys sitting there not knowing what to think haha. Great video!

Wow! they are awesome! I loved it when the camera would pan out and there would be that ! fan bobbing his head to the music. Everyone else was still. There always seemed to be that one guy haha!

I wish I had that much energy.

This is pretty cool I wish I had the skill to pull that off. That was a good pick.

Lol, this is crazy that people can really do all this with jump ropes. This was an interesting video to watch.

Amanda Jones April 8th, 2009 at 23:20
That was absolutely crazy but the best part may have been when they were scanning the crowd and a huge gorilla or ape of sorts was standing cheering…

Amazing!! there is no other word to describe such thing. It’s incredible to see their synchronization and how fit they must be to do such thing. Really liked this video… never thought something like it was ever to be achieved.

That had to be one of the best performances I have ever seen! I am a dancer so I know how hard it is to be synchronized as a team but I never would have imagined it was possible to do with jump ropes! This had to be very time consuming and they probably had to go through a lot of pain because they must have gotten hit many times with the jump ropes while learning.

I was so impressed with this entertaining routine!
Firstly, my coach always makes us do a series of skipping at the end of practices and the endless hopping makes me thing of the skipping rope as my enemy!! I now have a new found love for skipping and think my coach will be quite surprised! lol!Skipping has shown me its fun side after a long semester of my calves burning for minutes on end while I jump over a rope at the end of practices( when my legs are not fresh)!
Thank you Hank!
