If you have any interest at all in entrepreneurship I would recommend applying for the BDM competition. It was one of the best experiences I had while in college!

I think I will apply. My friend and I are working on something interesting.

Zhiheng Liu September 8th, 2009 at 09:59
I don’t think I have enough experience to compete with most of the other participants but I will definitely check it out.

Andrew Rodriguez September 8th, 2009 at 11:15
Dependent on my business plan created in ENTR200, I may choose to enter the competition.
-
I’m not sure if I may compete, but I’ll check it out. It may be a good experience, but I do not want to embarrass myself. (lol)

I think this is a good platform for any student who is interested in opening his/her own company.
I would probably join the competition but I am looking for some partner to help me. -
Greg Forney September 8th, 2009 at 13:58
This is a really interesting competition, I’ll have to look into it more and try to come up with some ideas.
-
I’ve been kicking around a couple of ideas so I’ll probably go. Sounds pretty cool though and a great resume-booster if nothing else.
-
Leah Keough September 8th, 2009 at 14:20
This is a great opportunity for those who are driven by an idea they have, and gives them a chance to share it as well as earn some money!
-
Marisa Strupp September 8th, 2009 at 14:35
I’ve been going thorough some ideas and think that this is a great opportunity! Plus, any potential employers would love it on a resume

Sounds like an interesting competition with a large incentive. It will be interesting to see what groups come up with this semester.

I want to get more information for this contest, but I feel like I’m not prepared enough at all. So much work goes into starting a business. I feel like I wouldn’t know where to begin.
-
Allison Weilbaker September 8th, 2009 at 15:17
I’ve thought about entering but I don’t have the technological know how to start the type of business I want to go into, hopefully a few years at Purdue can change that.

This contest seems like a great way to start off an entreprenual career. I really want to do this competition, but I dont think my ideas are capable of placing at the event, so I will ask around for comments before trying to enter.

Well…basically I’m intimidated by this competiton. I don’t even have an idea for our projects in class, and I don’t think i have the type of entreprenur thinking to find one.
Even though this competition sounds amazing to those who do have amazing ideas, and the ability to write good business plans. Hopefully one day soon I’ll get an idea and can enter the contest.

This is a serious competition and offers alot to anyone who puts time into trying to win it. By participating in this competition it will help everyone in the future when trying to start a business and give them an edge over everyone else.

I have been thinking of some ideas with some friends. This competition is intimidating, yet the challenge is one I would like to experience!

-
Chris Borer September 8th, 2009 at 18:58
I cant wait to enter as many of the competitions as possible to get my friends and I’s ideas going. It is really exciting just thinking about the possibilities for the future.

I’m interested in this too. Our class should form a couple teams. We need to represent Hank and our class!

I’m not too sure yet if I will apply.. although it is an AWESOME opportunity. Kristeen Hudson, one of the members from the winning group last year, was actually my R.A. from freshman year when I lived in Owen. It’s crazy to think that you could come out of college 20k of profit and not in the red.
-
It would be an great experience to participate in the competition.
-
Alex Lewis September 8th, 2009 at 21:06
I don’t think I’ll apply, but it does sound like a great opportunity. Maybe next year when I have more experience.
-
Mayura Davda September 8th, 2009 at 23:48
What an opportunity and exposure to aspiring entrepreneurs! Go boilers!
I think I’m in for this as I have something like a rough business idea. -
Christopher Perry September 9th, 2009 at 06:24
I wish it was a bit later in the year so i could decide if i have something worth offering.

I think this is a great opportunity for people to learn and get more experiences and knowledge. But right now I don’t think I have enough time and experience to work on it.

This sounds like an awesome experience…and who wouldn’t want to get a hand on some of that dough.

This activity is not only a competition, but also provided a great chance for students whom are aiming to become the successful in business areas to be more prepared, and I think if I have time, I would really like to try this.

You so called entrepreneurs might as well not even go…because that prize money is mine. You can come with your little ideas thinking its cool, well i’ll be the first to tell you that its not. Your product really isn’t anything until its come head to head with “Black Fist Products Inc.” BABY!!!!. Remember that name thats gone be the name that slides in and takes the prize money from imbetween your greezy, sweaty, undiserving hands. I eat sucker entrepreneurs for breakfast, then regurgitate you so my teammates can get some, then i’ll pop the my pants button and pick the peices thats left of you out my teeth. We some monsters that you did not see comin. The problem with “you guys” is that you dont have the mindset. This is why i’m god like compared to “you guys”.
ALL ABOUT A DOLLAR!!!

YEAH!!! WEEZY. YOUNG MONEY SNITCHES. -
It sounds interesting, fun and profitable. I guess I will sign in with a couple of friends and I hope to win a decent sum as well.
Even if I loose, I am sure its going to be a great experience. -

It would be an great opportunity for some people to participate in Burton D morgan competition and have acknowledged by others the entrepreneural ideas. But i think comming up with ideas are possible. But they hard part is financial support. If there is one more next year, i would like to participate, i am still thinking about a good one. However, for those people who have a idea that is worth the money and if they actually found a very good idea, they should go get patent first and participate.

Hopefully someody from our class wins and bring it in for entr 200
-
Michael Mullen September 10th, 2009 at 09:02
If I come up with an idea good enough then I would definitely compete. And of course the nice prize money is another reason to enter.
-
Marisa Nakajima September 10th, 2009 at 09:26
Seems like a great opportunity, but I would like to become better prepared before entering, so maybe next year…

Chris Borer September 13th, 2009 at 17:54
Me and a group of my friends are ready to take this competition by storm. And it sounds like someone up above is too.
