The Importance of Enthusiasm in Any Product
Posted on September 24th, 2009 31 commentsToday’s blog draws on Apple’s recent announcement of new products and their obvious enthusiasm for what they are about. Techcrunch’s MG Siegler in a blog 9/17/09 titled “The Importance of Enthusiasm In Any Product” drives home this point extremely well. It is well worth a couple minutes of your time to read and learn from his post. Hank

When the people that makes it has full confident (Or pretend they do), it boosts consumers confident on buying such product. One other great way is to have you employee loves your own product. If every apple employee use an iphone, it has to be good. If Steve Jobs say its good, it has to be good. Ok, maybe thats not true. But every time when Jobs is on the stage, he is very persuasive.

It’s amazing how much hype surrounds any event that Apple schedules. I think it’s great that a CEO like Jobs can connect to his audience so clearly while exuding enthusiasm about whatever product Apple is launching, even if it’s something seemingly insignificant.

I think this is a great blog. I have heard so many people say that if your not passionate about your product it will fail. Being passionate about your product gives you am edge over your competition because you cam share your enthusiasm with your customers.

I don’t know about anyone else, but that video was so annoying! But on the other hand, it is amazing how much they stress their product. They always use words that make their product seem and sound far above all others, and that is what makes sales.

this video was annoying but i hope that with eh rest of the content it wouldnt be as amazing,
THis really shows that they are proud of their product and are willing to show this. Hype is good especially when the iPod has the Zune to now compete with. Go Zune! -

although this video may seem annoying, I believe that we all can learn something from it.

Steve Jobs doing his best job

The CEO of the Apple company is not only a good manager, but also a good speaker. He “ruled” the team to creat more innovative products which solved, or will going to solve people’s question, and made their lives much easier. From what I heard, if people (a company) want to be successful, they ought to be passionate in the first place, in other words, in order to make others like one’s product, they must love their own product first, and then try to find the way sell them. And Apple is a good example for this, because they love Apple, that’s the beginning of their success. They know they can, and they will

It’s great to see the excitement that all of the speakers hold for their product. However, for any keynote you could make a video like this. Keynotes to me at least are giant sales pitches and like any good salesperson the sellers exuberate confidence. Happy to see Steve back in action and in good health too.

Company passion feeds off to the consumer. Plus, they become even more enthusiastic for new product launches.

This is a fantastic video. I clearly see the point and I totally agree that companies such as apple, google have done so good because of the shear enthusiasm in their products. Its a very important point to keep in mind, that you dont expect people to buy and use your product if you yourself are not exited about using it.

I would never buy a product or invest in a company that the leaders of the company don’t have enough confidence in their own products. It is kind of like the new Burger King commercials where the race car driver endorses Whoppers because he says he actually eats them. Much better than the “sock press.” You can always spot the products being endorsed by people that would never use them.

omg I have never ever heard any company say the words “incredible”, “great”, “easy”, “beautiful” and words like that.
Here apple has displayed the enthusiasm and confidence in their product. They are so much excited about their product that compels them to say these words so many times.
It is the strategy that many companies use to attract the customers. -

Ha i think this video is great. That is what apple is! “Amazing, beautiful, priceless, incredible,” the enthusiasm from the team is great because Apple has come out with so many “great” products this one must be one of the best. I haven’t seen ANY employer get this excited over a new product in awhile. It certainly got my attention.

hahaha i think a thesaurus for the words incredible, easy and great might have come in handy? Hopefully the audience didn’t notice.
On another note, I think confidence is contagious; when you hear someone describe their product with such heart and passion you can’t help but think their product is exceptional as well. The way you portray your product has a key influence on how others will view it as well.

This is amazingly incredible. Couldn’t they have come up with some different adjectives?
If you don’t have any confidence in your own company it’s hard to fake it. A lot of people will be able to tell when you’re not being sincere and this will only have a negative affect on potential customers. You should probably think about starting over if you don’t have any confidence, because this probably means that the idea wasn’t that great to begin with.

Haha, it’s interesting!

another reason why mac is better than windows! but the video was really annoying, but it still provided how excited apple’s founders can still be about their products!

I don’t think the presenters sounded enthusiastic. From what I heard, they were boring and terribly repetitive. But who am I to criticize minds more brilliant than mine, when I can’t even deliver a half way decent speech, let alone be enthusiastic about it. They did get the point across by stressing how amazing the product is. I just think they could have been more creative in their word choice. Enthusiasm and passion are very important when presenting. Even if you really aren’t that excited or even interested, you still need to act like it. This is an element I know I need to improve on. Some day I hope to combine my passion and my education into a career I will actually enjoy working.

Scratch that first sentence. They did come across as enthusiastic, but they could have done it in a more clever way.
-
Dude I see people commenting about how mac is better that windows…am sorry but that’s B.S if you believe in paying hundreds extra for aesthetics then that cool go ahead but don’t say mac is better cuz its certainly not.

On 0:36, “It’s that easy” suddenly reminded me of Bob Ross from The Joy of Painting. Anyways, I believe such positiveness and enthusiasm on Apple’s product is a part of their marketing strategy, and it is working extremely well.

Zheng Wang September 24th, 2009 at 23:51
Well,I did see the confidence and enthusiasm they have for their products through this video.
-
Christopher Perry September 25th, 2009 at 06:39
Enthusiam is hard to come by but it also can spred like fire if you have the right people. Plus I think it provides an excitement that can translate into happiness in the employees and face it happy workers do more are more creative and do that little extra that turns a good product into a great one.

I think Steve Jobs and the people at Apple do a great job of selling their products. This video really shows all of the positive adjectives and the enthusiasm that the company’s speakers show for their product and Apple. That’s one thing Apple can do great – market their products.

From what I can tell being both a Microsoft and Apple user for almost my entire life, Apple definitely knows how to sell a product. The number of people that have an iPhone or iPod and have never used a Macintosh computer is astounding.

One of the important thing Apple has to do is boost confidence for the people who they are representing their products. It will help promote the workers to work harder and feel they are the best.
-
Apple’s self-important hype boosts what the consumers think about it. “Wow Apple execs say that the ipod is awesome? they clearly know what they’re talking about!”. While it works I have trouble buying into the fanboy-esque hype.
-
Marisa Nakajima September 27th, 2009 at 11:49
This was a hilarious video that shows how much they try to promote the product with positive enforcing words…I never realized that each person has their own word or set of words they they tend to use to describe something they are trying to promote…

I am surprised at how old Steve Jobs looks.
