iLov’n Driod, iDrool, iLaugh, iBuy
Posted on October 18th, 2009 19 commentsThis is a quicky post. Verizon is leaking it has a new iPhone killer named Droid in the pipeline. This phone has had leaks for about a month now; here is what it looks like. It runs android 2.0 and it will launch Oct 30th at midnight. That’s not the story per se. How they are positioning it is. Watch the video below. Just wait until the Windows 7 wars start! Hank

I recently got a BlackBerry and now i can never go back to a phone without an operating system. I will check this new phone out but i don’t know if i’ll be going back on BlackBerry.

I don’t know how true is this, but if it is then I am sure that apple will be strongly tested in defending its iPhone. And i m looking forward to windows 7 as it should be out with a couple days i believe.

Mac has built their market. They have a customer fan base that is phenominal and PC users switch to Macs constantly but is rare to go the other way. Nothing can kill MacBooks, IPhones, or Apple. the competition can only spur Apple to increase, enhance, and upgrade!

Wow, I want one yesterday. Might have something to do with my unwarranted dislike for apple, but Android 2.0.. almost worth buying a data plan

ITS ON! I like how they used the iDon’t to relate it back to Apple products.

Cool marketing technique. As a Verizon customer, I’ve always considered switching to AT&T to get an iPhone… Maybe now I’ll stick it out for one of these

I believe this will be a big hit. I do not think the iPhone has anything to worry about tho because of its huge fan base already.

This has great buzz! That clip was awesome with the iDont marketing. Ironically, I get a new Verizon phone in November…good timing indeed.

I saw this commercial on tv and because i’m not loyal to apple (all I have is an ipod) I really liked it. I thought that even though they are like badmouthing apple it’s still a clever way to campaign (just like politicians)

I didn’t like this video as such coz I am fan of i phone. When you wanted to introduce something new into the market why are you insulting the previous hit model?
I really don’t get it. -

I hope this kills the i phone…i really do cuz I hate Apple and everything it stances for, but how many times have people claimed their phones to be Iphone killer i.e Plam pre- which didnt get anywhere close to the iphone…..it might have bought palm a couple more years but it sure wasnt close to the iphone.

no, not interesting enough, they should at least wait until they are confident with everything or show a little but more, empty promises are not convincing

Wow. The entire time I was watching the commercial I honestly thought they were advertising all the things their phone can’t do. I didn’t get that they were talking about the iphone until the very end. It’s been a long day. I liked the twist at the end. Making your competitor look bad is a good strategy. Simple, to the point, and creative. Cool idea.

Very interesting…good advertising by not showing too much because it keeps the viewer interested.

As Ankit mentioned, i think some people will try to defend the i phones. However, after watching the video i think this phone will be a really hit. This Droid phone seems to have much more features and technologies involved making the process. But one thing that worries me is the touch screen about the Droid phone. Touch screens in many phones are slow, and hard to type. This Droid phone really looks so similar to my google phone.
