Mid Terms in ENTR200
Posted on October 24th, 2009 18 commentsThis past week was Mid Terms in my Intro to Entrepreneurship & Innovation classes at Purdue University. Student teams were required to do a video interview with an entrepreneur of their choosing and present their interview in a manner that “amazed” the viewers. Today and tomorrow/Sunday, two innovative approaches will be depicted in the blog.
Today’s entry took a bland subject, Tung Ho [sorry Tung!], and sexified the interview with video skills; tomorrow’s is a Purdue student-based entry with an unusual name. A novel approach was implemented in their presentation also. Team 5′s video is below.
BTW, I purchased the academic version of Windows 7, downloaded it yesterday [little over 3 gigs] and ATTEMPTED to install same on a plain vanilla quad-core Gateway with Vista 64 bit. It churned away for hours and hours until I finally gave up and went to bed. This is while constantly receiving a screen readout that everything was progressing as planned. I woke up early this morning to a screen telling me Windows 7 couldn’t be installed and I was back in Vista. So much for Microsoft’s great Windows 7 rollout. Sucks! The evil empire is alive and well! I bet there will be more stories like this. Hank

I really enjoyed our mid-term it was really fun to do! As far as Windows 7, I hate Vista, and I knew 7 wasn’t going to be any better. So i’m not surprised to hear this. However, I am upset that happened to you.

I also had fun creating the video! Did you get the Windows 7 upgrade download from Digital River? I’ve seen people having issues with that: http://u.nu/5ijn3

I’m using mac now but sometimes I may use windows because there is something that I can use in windows rather than in other systems.

The academic version of Windows 7 has been having problems with the downloading, Some problem with the way they loaded it to the web.
Mayura i have to politely disagree with you. Mac’s dont have anything on PC’s. While their computers are great for videos/music/ other \art things they dont compare to Windows. One way to prove that even mac users still desire Windows is that Macs enabled their computers to run windows.

I despise window’s vista, and I don’t see myself trying window’s 7 any time soon.

The midterm video presentation was very interesting……It was challenging as well……As far as Windows 7 is concerned , I didn’t give it a try…..So I have to give it a try …Hope it works out well.

The Colbert Report was a genius idea! I was amazed.

I will not argue that Mac is better than PC unless working in the genre of art, be it video or otherwise, but Windows does seem to consistently have release problems. Give it a few months and they’ll have it all worked out, unless of course the Vista fiasco repeats itself and they just fail to fix anything and allow their customers to continue to run on malfunctioning software. Personally, I have a brand new laptop but choose to run XP so that I do not have to ‘deal with it.’

Installed windows 7 on my laptop the other day, I have been making sweet sweet love to it for the last week. The problem might be that your downloading it from the internet and now installing from a CD. You can lose files and such pending on where you download from. Just a thought

I just don’t think windows 7 will be all its hyped up to be. I feel like it will be another let down like vista.

I love the Mac commercial where they highlight all the past versions of Windows and how Microsoft tries to claim that the next one will always be better than the last. I still use XP because i have hated Vista from the beginning. I as the commercials put it, just want a computer that works and isn’t painfully slow. XP works for me so Microsoft can keep Windows 7

This project was fairly interesting, took us a while to come up with how to present this without putting everyone asleep. Weren’t even sure if we are going to be able to pull this off. But guess it turns out okay

I would just like to say, HANK, that I do not like it that you just completely sold out Windows 7! Just because it sucked for you, doesn’t mean it will for everyone else!!! I think it’s great! Much faster and requires less memory to perform! So HA, Hank!

I know Mac looks better, is more classic, stable and definitely more secure. But, still there are many things that a PC can do which Mac can’t. Windows 7 is for sure not as bad as Vista, its really nice. Give it another shot and it might work out better for you.
Thank you very much for liking our interview and putting it up.
