pho.to: An interesting photo site
Posted on November 1st, 2009 22 commentsToday’s blog is about a photo site, a subject I don’t generally blog about. However, pho.to is worth a look. Some of you may have trouble seeing what is below. You might have to install an Adobe plugin [Shockwave, and 11 does work on OS 10.6!] on both PCs and Macs; I did. And depending on your iSpeed, it may take a while to load.
What it’s all about is a really really cool site www.pho.to that enables you to do stuff you never have even thought of with pictures. The example embedded below actually takes the viewer on a virtual tour, in which the photos of fifth & six graders that Brutti is the mascot for @ Impact in Mulberry are shown on the walls of the virtual building. Play around with it and your will see what I’m talking about. Another version from the same set of 20 or so photos is here: <http://thinkbeta.com/Impact/index.htm> BTW, the “.to” domain name is from here: Hank

Nice to see photos of Brutti helping out others. I am currently looking at a site to upload photos to because my backup hard drive crashed. I’m always scared that I’m going to lose years of photos and therefore am looking for an online storage site. Thanks for posting this.

The site looks pretty cool… so does the .to domain name extension. I was hoping stuff like au.to, lot.to, and ghet.to were available.

It’s pretty cool to have a site like this available to everyone. Photoshop can do similar things, but is so expensive and hard to get a handle on. It is fun to just fool around with pictures.

This site is really unique and I am definitely interested in using it in the future.

I agree. It’s awesome to have a site that is free and easy to use and can have simple manipulations to photos without having to use photoshop.

This sight has a very interesting unique idea, but it honestly does not appeal very much to me. However the manipulations that this site allows you to make are very cool.

I think it is a great tool. The ability to edit and manipulate photos is valuable to just about anyone who works in the business world or who just takes photos for personal use. I don’t see myself using this often, but will keep it in mind for the future.

The online storage site is something I hadn’t thought of before Karlis just mentioned it. I always put all of my pictures on my computer and then on my external, but knowing my luck, I’d lose both in the same day.

It’s awesomeness for free ..It’s a very potential website for creative people who want to try their hand out on something like photos for free in the beginning and then take their talents to whatever serious heights..

This site is cool, I just wish either my internet or the functions on the site were faster, because every step is taking a few minutes, just to edit one photo. However, the website was a great idea and is very useful.

It’s really neat the things you can do with photo editing these days. This is extremely advantageous for many people, and it’s always a lot of fun to take your photos to the next step and make them better.

This is a really neat site. I’m wondering how well it will compete with other sites such as shutterfly, photobucket, and imageshack.

The photo sharing/online storage is definitely a saturated market. The novel idea here is a good way to differentate the company from the countless competitors. I think its a great idea.

This new photo editing site will be very helpful for some people. I think it is very great idea since people like to change things from the original. But the examples from the video seemed to be very funny, is it used in any serious way?
