Nokia’s Morph
Posted on November 9th, 2009 39 comments
Last Thursday, Team 10 in my noon ENTR200 class did their five minute presentation on Nokia’s Morph concept. It’s a cool, way in the future device that will make my new {Twitter link has great insights ->] Droid look like it’s ancient history, which it will be when the Morph hits. As the team pointed out, Purdue University is at the center of nano-based research through the Birck Nanotechnology Center. The embedded video says it all. My thanks to the Noon Section Team 10 from Purdue’s Learning Community for the insights. Hank39 responses to “Nokia’s Morph”

Very advanced in many ways, the future holds many very cool items! What will be next? It’s only a matter of time until we will know.
-
The multiple form factors are so cool. This would definitely be a neat product.

The concept of this is astounding. I imaging though that this will be one of those over ambitious projects that will suffer from constant delays until it is eventually canned or will be unbelievably expensive when it’s released.

This is a very futuristic concept, but then again, if you told me ten years ago we’d have something like the iphone, I wouldn’t have believed it.

This is a cool looking phone. all the applications of the phone are amazing. I didnt know that nano technology could do so much
-
Brent McClean November 9th, 2009 at 12:30
Nanotechnology is the next wave of most applications in the future. The video was really cool.

Sounds like sweet new technology. The purpose of a phone is starting to be less and less of actually calling
-
Jenna York November 9th, 2009 at 13:36
Wow this is so interesting! I have never seen anything like it. Nanotechnology is definitely going to be the next big thing for sure!

Marisa Strupp November 9th, 2009 at 14:03
This is amazing! I am completely blown away at the capabilities that it has! I do agree that the Droid phone doesn’t hold a ranking to this futuristic phone.

Sensing an apple? Crazy! This really is a cool concept.

Speaking of Nokia, Nokia is coming out with an high end netbook that is suppose to blow everyone out of the water. We’ll see how that goes.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that this is not even in the ball park of “near future.” Maybe im just a scepticist but this just seems too far fetched to imagine any time soon.

I cannot wait to see concepts such as the morph and other nanotechnological products become realities. This product is astounding. What is even more astounding are the people who come up with ideas such as these. Our world seems to become more advanced and creative all the time. And when you start to think everything has been done, someone proves you wrong

This is weird. What’s wrong with using a regular phone? I’m not a fan.

Yay!! I feel so good that Hank and everyone else in class has appreciated my idea for presentation on Morph and my team mates’ presentation(because I couldn’t be there as I was sick)so much!
Thanks, Hank for featuring my Morph idea in this blog.I somehow always wished that my team’s presentation should be a topic for Hank’s blog someday. And it came true!!

And thanks to Eugene and Zheng for making this presentaiton a noteworthy one! -

And btw, I totally was amazed by this concept product the moment I heard about it a while ago. So, I just decided then that it should be my topic of presentation in class sometime. I really appreciate the technology that involves in it’s making and the features that this offers are truly remarkable and amazing!

With things like theis there is less and less reason for computers, and laptops as ALMOST everything you need is in your phone, in the palm of your hand. It’s crazy to think how advanced technology is today!

Yeah it’s quite innovative. Maybe one day this idea can come true and change people’s life!

A have heard of this concept phone for years but Nokia hasn’t really set a date for the release of this technology at all…
To me it looks like it’s just another interesting concept to boost Nokia’s stock.
But anyways, that’s just me. -
Andrew Rodriguez November 9th, 2009 at 19:24
This is such a cool idea and it truly seems almost unbelievable! Technology has gone so far and to have such remarkable ability in something so small and versatile is outstanding.
-
Aaron Curtis November 9th, 2009 at 20:33
When this product comes out, I think it will be the next best product like the i phone was.
-
Zheng Wang November 9th, 2009 at 22:05
By presenting about Morph, I realized that the best technology is the one that can bring convenience to people’s life. That is amazing.
-
Nick Brenneke November 9th, 2009 at 22:28
The idea is really awesome. I hope that this comes out within the next 20 years. Nanotechnology is the future and Nokia and many other large companies realize this.
-
Kevin B. November 9th, 2009 at 22:29
Nanotechnology does look like it will be the future and it does put the droid to shame.
-
Ross Peare November 9th, 2009 at 23:44
This is the future of cell phone technology. I cant see this happening anytime soon though, maybe in the next 5 – 10 years. If they could do something like this it would change lives.

I have already heard of this phone.”Morph”
One of my friend had done a presentation on this topic.
The features on this are really amazing, more than anything, I should appreciate the idea.I think Morph can dominate iphone.
Morph Vs iphone? -

What’s amazing about nano tech is that it stretches across so many fields because of its various applications….nano-tech applies from Bio-med Eng. to Materials to EE…definitely the future
-
Christopher Perry November 10th, 2009 at 08:49
Wonder how long it will take to develop something like this.
-
Amber Illig November 10th, 2009 at 12:18
That is AWESOME! I also wonder when it will be coming out. I agree that Morph could dominate iphone, but I wonder if Apple is also quickly working on something similar?
-
This is new, innovative, high-tech, advanced and really cool. It has a lot of new stuff that can help Nokia in taking control of the market in many ways. Nano technology is surely the future which will definitely give existing technologies such as droid and iPhone a run for their money.
-
This is really cool stuff here and a good glimpse of how tech is so quickly changing. At home i still have one of those big cell phones from the ’90s and now i have the iphone… time flies

When all the technology mentioned are commercially avaliable, id probably have my OWN mobile with all the fucntionaility customade for myself as the iPhone has its apps now.atleast that’s what i pictured my phone would be in the future
-
The future of technology definitely looks very bright !! Can’t wait to see this
-
Michael Mullen November 12th, 2009 at 12:14
I’m very curious as to when this product will come out and how much it will cost.
-
Rohan Thakkar November 12th, 2009 at 12:37
When will this come up, the future has always seemed cool but when are we ever going to reach it
-
Marisa Nakajima November 12th, 2009 at 12:38
This is a very cool idea…I wish it wasn’t so far into the future though and this type of technology wasn’t as costly and unavaliable. But I can’t wait to c what the future holds.
-
I like Nokia a lot. And I think this is a very good idea that may change the future even better.
-
Sung Jae November 13th, 2009 at 13:47
This nanotechnology is very astounding. The cool thing about this is its not plastic at all, it is flexible and can be positioned anywhere handy. But i heard from the presentation to make this product it will take more than 10 years from now? If this kind of phone can be made, i predict advanced hologram computers will be out soon.
-
It’s pretty crazy how fast technology out dates itself. One second you think you have the most advance piece available and the next day you learn it’s obsolete.
