    1. I personally did not know that application design and development would have such a demand! It is something great to get involved with especially when there is a good opportunity to make a liable business out of it.

    2. I think that this is so awesome. I definitely plan on attending this seminar and I certainly plan on taking this course. I don’t know much about code but I think that its amazing that apps are in such high demand. Even if I sold my app for free I think it would be awesome to see people all over the world download my app.

    3. It’s on my calendar! I wish i wasn’t a senior or else I would take the course too.

    4. Amanda Edmondson

It’s nice to know that we have all these resources available to us. I personally am not an overly technological savvy person, but have my friends that could really use all of this great information.

    5. Definitely going to the seminar thinking about the class too, I’ve been working a little on my own but I feel like I still need a lot of work to produce a viable app.

    6. Soroosh Karamyar

I am really excited for the opportunity to learn how to make apps and I have put this in my calendar in anticipation. Once I learn how to make an innovative app the money will be flowing. hahaha

    7. Awesome! You should also mention that there is an android development program going on right now in Purdue! And its awesome! for more details : http://www.cs.purdue.edu/news/2-08-10Android.html

    8. This seems like a really cool opportunity to learn about something that is not open to the everyday public. Did Apple volunteer to give a seminar about this or was it upon Purdue’s request?

    9. It’s an awesome idea for apple to give these seminars. Now that they have a great/solid product such as the iphone, the most important thing is to keep enhancing it and the way to the that is app development. Anyone can design/develop applications too, Apple is sitting in a pretty sweet spot right now.

    10. I am definitely signing up for the course if it fits in my schedule next semester. I need to have more fun with what I do, and this would be just the thing.

    11. Its become pretty obvious from this class that there is an endless amount of opportunity when it comes to designing apps for apple products. This is a great asset for students here at Purdue.

    12. I’ll do it. The levels I mean. Will this be a overview on how to get started or will it be beneficial and give us an example of someones code? I need a quick overview.

    13. I’m impressed with Purdue & Apple for offering this seminar. I hope to see a lot of creative apps coming from the new interest in the public developing apps. Not sure if making apps really interests me, but if a brilliant idea comes to me, I’ll definitely attend the seminar.

    14. Holding free app creation seminars is a great idea all around. This isn’t just a service that is beneficial to Apple’s patrons by giving us an opportunity to better understand how to build apps, but it is also an amazing marketing strategy by providing special customer service. The more people Apple has building and thinking up applications, the strong, and more powerful the Iphone becomes in the smart phone competition.

If you’ve ever wished there was ‘an app for that’, now is your chance. I’m hoping to be done with work in time to attend, because I’m sure one day I’ll think of something I could make an app for.

    16. I’m glad to see this post. Sounds like an interesting seminar and should be useful. I wouldn’t have known about it if not for the post. Nice to see Purdue holding this type of seminar.

This is something that I have always wanted to do but figured it was impossible. Now that I know there is an easy way to make virtually any application I most likely am going to get involved. An addition that helps people that are making apps is the new ipad.

    18. This is a great opportunity to make some money on the side! Although there is a lot of demand, I feel that by having classes to enable app creation will flood the market and there will be too many. Apps are created to make things simpler, but if there are too many, it will become too complicated.

    19. Blake Bronowicki

This is a great oppertunity for app developers or people just interested in formulating apps to get their final product out there. I think this is great that someone from Apple is dedicating their time to having a workshop for potential app formulators. I think its great that the amount of apps is constantly increasing and the amount of ideas generated for the potential apps is probably endless. I always look forward to hearing about new and innovative apps that are constantly being created.

i really want to do this! is there a way i can find out if it can count towards one of my classes that i have to take for my major? and can any one take it? its a 400 level and im not a computer science or CGT major so would i have to get special permission?

ps i desperately want to go to the seminar.

    21. I think it is a good idea to have this class and seminar. I personally hate programming and doing codes, but there is a big market for it. I just hope that the market does not get flooded, otherwise a lot of people will lose money and time on it when it is unnecessary.

    22. im still not jumping on the design your own app bandwagon…seems like there is a bunch of red tape to go through regarding apple. they would have to approve it, not to mention the classes you would have to take to learn how to design them. if this was something i would want to do in my free time i dont want to take time away from other things by taking classes to do it.

    23. Casey Piquette

I still think my entrepreneurial niche lies elsewhere than Apple programming, but I think the session would be interesting. It is good to stay on top of the trends, even if I can’t program it.

    24. I think that would be a great class to get into Hank! I just wished I had a spot to take it as an elective, I think it would be a great class to use further down the road! For apps created during the class would be a enjoyable experience for all involved!
